Doberman Fights Off Venomous Snake To Save Young Child
One of the most common misconceptions about dogs like Dobermans is that they’re vicious animals. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In fact, Dobermans are some of the most loyal dogs you can find. The following story is no exception:
An Australian family, looking to add some canine love to the mix, brought home a Doberman and named him Khan. The dog seemed to fit in well with the group and took a particular liking to the young child in the family.
According to a story in Buzz Flare, the dog was left alone outside with the child one day supervised from afar by her mother. When it seemed as though Khan was getting vicious, the mother ran outside, seeing Khan grab hold of the child and throw her across the yard–but upon further inspection, Khan was saving the child from a venomous snake.
Khan fought off the snake but was bitten and had to be rushed to the nearest emergency vet to be given anti-venom. Had Khan not been there it’s unlikely the child would have survived.
The story truly transcends the stigma behind Dobermans and goes to show that they are loyal and loving dogs who will do anything to protect the ones they love…

Snowbound Bulldog Gets Help Rescuing Frisbee
Sometimes in life, when we can’t get what we want, we find that all we needed all along was a helping hand. That was the case with a French Bulldog named Bentley when he couldn’t climb through the snow to get back his Frisbee!
In the video below, Bentley’s Frisbee was stuck in the snow just out of the pup’s reach, and Bentley didn’t have the height or strength to get it. When encouragement from Bentley’s owner wasn’t quite enough to get back the beloved disc, Bentley’s pal Chase, a Labrador Retriever, came to the rescue.
Chase dove into the snow and picked up the Frisbee, bringing it back to Bentley and dropping it in front of them. The two then go off to play more in the snow.
These two best pal pups go to show that sometimes all you need is a little bit of kindness and a little bit of help!

I’m sure most dog lovers have heard a story or two about our canines becoming fast friends with unlikely animals. This blog even recently covered a story about a horse and doberman friendship–but these stories all perhaps pale in comparison to this one.
In the city of Erode, India, this monkey not only became friends with a stray puppy, but took him under his wing, protecting him from other local wildlife that might do him harm.
A story in Zee News writes:
“People who have seen them spoke of their strong mutual affection and described their bond as the most caring thing in the world — to take care of a puppy in danger and protect him like a parent. Their undying affection gives us a valuable lesson about relationships.”
The monkey and puppy duo do everything together from eat and sleep and play. Perhaps our animal companions in some cases have more humanity than we give them credit for.

Paralyzed Puppy Crawls Miles – Gets Herself to Safety
Stories like Poppy’s, a young dog from Botswana, should be inspiring to all. After sustaining an unknown injury to her spine at a young age, she was left paralyzed to die in the middle of nowhere.
Yet Poppy persevered. Out in the wilds, she crawled with her front legs only past elephant, lions and hyenas in order to make it back to civilization, according to a story in The Dodo.
Poppy found herself eventually in a research camp for elephants where Susanne Vogel found the poor pup wandering into their facilities.
“She came crawling — literally crawling, because her back legs were completely immobilized — into our research camp,” Vogel told The Dodo. “She was unable to walk, but full of love and seeking help.”
According to Vogel’s recollection, the nearest veterinarian hospital was an eight-mile drive from their research site, but they managed to help Poppy and bring her there for help.
“The camp is in a remote region, filled with elephants, but also lions, hyenas and other predators,” Vogel said. “Poppy had somehow made it to us, emaciated and soaking wet from the rain.”
The vet performed life-saving surgery on Poppy, who now is staying with her research pals in Bostwana, and her story reminds us every day that no matter how hard things get, you can never give up.

One of the most lovable things about dogs is their tendency to act like human children for their entire lives. This particular dog reminds us of a child’s attachment to toys and safety blankets with her teddy bear rescue mission.
When this Golden Retriever’s stuffed bear was left behind in the laundry machine, she dove in for the rescue, Mission Impossible style–though she wasn’t aware her owners had set up cameras knowing she’d be planning such a heist.
Like a stealth bomber, she sneaks into the laundry room, pokes her head into the washing machine (where another camera was set up), and rescues her beloved bear before it was too late!
The video, posted by Youtube user Simon Bromfield, states “Our Golden Retriever is besotted with her teddy bear. We setup a little sting operation to see if we could catch her on camera stealing it out of the washing machine.”
Doubtless, an adorable moment of canine and ursine love!

Dog Who Lost Pups to Fire Nursing Orphaned Litter
Tragedy is everywhere in this world, and heartbreak affects us all–even our canine companions. So when Daisy, a Golden Retriever from Roseburg, Oregon, lost her litter of puppies to a barn fire, she was heartbroken and grieving for weeks.
According to a story in Buzzfeed News, owner Jessica Woodruff stated that Daisy lost her pups just three weeks after giving birth.
“We tried to run to the barn,” she said. “But it was too late. We had to hold Daisy as she tried to run into it.”
In the following weeks, Daisy just wasn’t the same.
“My heart broke for this new mom,” said Woodruff. “[She] wasn’t really eating…just walking down to the barn whining.”
But sometimes, even amid tragedy, beauty can happen…
Woodruff put out a post on Facebook asking for anyone who has puppies that need to be fostered, and was soon put in contact with Lorna Murphy.
Murphy’s dog Chloe died a short while after giving birth to her litter of eight puppies, leaving them orphaned.
According to Buzzfeed, Woodruff called the situation “fate.”
Daisy met the litter and the puppies took right to being nursed and taken care of by her. And Daisy has been pleased since. While the arrangement is only until the litter has grown mature enough, the universe has worked its magic. Daisy has puppies–the puppies have a mom.

Good Samaritan Road Trippers Save Abandoned Dogs
When dogs are the victims of inhumane cruelty and injustices, it is good to know that there are people who care. Two such people are brothers Briggs LocHaven and Chris Vanness, who saved two abandoned puppies while driving down an Arizona highway.
According to a story in The Dodo, the brothers were making their way to Colorado when they saw the pups on the side of the road.
“We stopped and got out of the car to check on them,” said Vanness. “They were friendly and severely dehydrated and starving and our hearts just sank. We didn’t have to capture them — they literally jumped in our car. We were speechless and our only thought was we need to get these guys some food and water and a bath.”
After giving the stranded canines some food and water, the group continued on to Colorado where they managed to find a home for the two dogs in the form of a friend who adopts rescues.
It’s good to know even in the face of cruelty, that there are always Good Samaritans.

Adorable! This Doberman is Best Friends With a Horse
Few other breeds of dogs have the ability to make our beloved Dobermans look small, but Boss, the 5 year old Doberman looks quite tiny next to his friend Contino, a large white horse!
Though Contino is about five times larger than Boss, size doesn’t get in the way of their friendship! The two document their adventures in best-friending on their Instagram page, @TheDobieTeam.
While the unlikely pairing might be expected to be not a great fit, the two clearly love each other, playing day in and day out, unlike any canine-equine relationship you’ve ever come across.
Check out this video of the two’s exploits!

We love our dogs, but they sure can be predictable creatures, sometimes a little bit more focused on a tasty treat than anything else.
When this woman came home from a trip to grocery store, her Great Dane–Katie–was more than willing to help bring the bags inside–provided she got a little something herself.
In the video, originally posted by user BronzeFineArt on rumble.com, Katie walks right up to the trunk full of groceries and dives right on the box of chicken, thinking she’s being sneaky.
Her mom lets her grab the box and tells her to go in the house and bring it to her bed.
Katie, seemingly perplexed that she’s being allowed to do this, slowly heads into the house, drooling on the box of chicken the whole way before making it to her dog bed.
Here’s hoping Katie got a bite or two!

This Abandoned Pit Bull Was Adopted By FDNY
After being rescued from an abandoned crack house, Ashley the Pit Bull was welcomed into her new family: the New York City Fire Department, according to a story from CBS News.
Last month, animal rescuers Erica Mahnken and Michael Favor came across Ashley after receiving a call from an anonymous tip that said the dog was alone in the unheated house without food or water.
According to CBS, upon arrival, Mahnknen and Favor found the dog starving and abused with cigarette burns.
In early January, Mahnken got in touch with a branch of the FDNY and asked if they’d be interested in giving the pooch a loving foster home for a while. In almost no time after fostering Ashley, the firefighters called Mahnken up and asked if they could adopt her for good.
“My heart wants to explode,” Mahnken told CBS News. “Everyone’s so quick to judge a dog, especially a dog you don’t know where it came from or what kind of person they are and what kind… It is very satisfying.”
Since being adopted only two months ago, Ashley has garnered a substantial Twitter following, with over 20,000 followers!
