Crazes come and go, but maybe this one will catch on?

Walter is a French Bulldog with an internet following who has been racking up hits and likes because of his signature dance. His human parents call it the “Spramp Hop.”

Walter gets on his two front paws and hops backward in quick bursts. The results are adorable to say the least.

Whether or not this could become a dance move for humans is another story, but Walter will keep on with it regardless!

(Tongue out and heavy panting optional!)

There’s a reason dogs are man’s best friend: they are brave animals who are noble and helpful to humans. These traits shine through in this story:

According to Shareably, Shannon Lorio was driving through rural Georgia one day. As she approached a sharp curve, she lost control of the vehicle and wrecked her car in a ditch. Lorio was thrown from her car and onto the top of the trunk. Lorio was concussed and unable to move. The wreck site was far from the road and it was unlikely anyone would notice.

Then, out of nowhere, a stray dog began to kiss her face. The dog took Lorio by her shirt and dragged her back to the road and made effort to track down a car. Someone noticed what was going on and managed to get Lorio to a nearby hospital.

Lorio rescued the pup and named him Hero.

Hero was later adopted by a dog trainer and now has a future Search and Rescue dog.

In the end, they rescued each other.

Great news for dog people!

According to Shareably, a new study from the University of Alberta shows that owning dogs is good for your health! The study followed 70 infants both raised around dogs and not.

The infants who were in the presence of dogs had better immune systems over time.

Apparently, the dirt and bacteria that dogs carry is good for babies because it strengthens their immune systems. The babies who grew up with dogs were found to carry a type of bacteria that is key in preventing obesity and allergies.

“The abundance of these bacteria were increased twofold when there was a pet in the house,” said Dr. Anita Kozyrskyj, a University of Alberta pediatric epidemiologist.

A related study found that children who grew up with dogs had much lower anxiety levels than others.

Moral of the study? Raise your kids with dogs!

Just like humans, most dogs would do anything to protect their kids. Such is the case with Rainbow, the homeless Pit Bull. According to a story in The Dodo, after giving birth, a major storm swept through California and threatened the lives of her young.

But Rainbow and her pups persevered. She took her litter into nearby bushes and gave them shelter for as long as she could.

Rescue foundation Hope For Paws was informed of the situation and set out to find them.

“This is a crazy, crazy situation,” Eldad Hagar, founder of Hope for Paws, said.

According to The Dodo, locals had been trying to rescue Rainbow for months but she was stubborn, running away from help. The storm proved too much for her however and she finally accepted the assistance.

Rainbow kissed her babies as the rescuers took them all out of the bushes.

Rainbow is truly a strong mother, and a reminder that we should all do anything we can to help our loved ones.

We’d sometimes maybe like to forget just how quickly our dogs age. Photographer Amanda Jones has made it her work to document this rapid growth, and the results are incredible.

For the past twenty years, Jones has been keeping track of the growth of a series of dogs. She takes pictures of them as puppies of around a year of age and again in their golden years.

Her project is a wonderful reminder of the years of joy our dogs bring, and their persistent beauty.

Few things are more heartwarming than a reunion between man and man’s best friend.

This story is perhaps even more tear-jerking because both the man and canine served together in the military:

Taylor, a yellow lab, served the United States military in two deployments. According to a story in Little Things, she was so good at her job that she had a price on her head from the Taliban.

Sgt. Tom Hanson was reunited with Taylor after she was discharged.

According to reports, it’s difficult for these reunions to happen due to the cost of adoption of these dogs.

Flight attendant Molli Oliver however, makes it her duty to facilitate these reunions and made this beautiful moment happen.

After his owner lost 50 lbs. during a stint in the hospital, Willie the dog almost didn’t recognize him.

But when he took a whiff of his owner’s hands and realized it was him, he couldn’t handle his excitement any further.

According to a story in Life With Dogs, owner Shane Godfrey found Willie abandoned as a pup sometime last year and saved him from the streets.

The two have been together ever since.

So when Godfrey came home noticeably skinnier, Willie appeared a bit skeptical of this newfound man. But for dogs, the smell doesn’t lie, and Willie found himself happily reunited.

When life on the road gets tiring, sometimes it’s best to have a friend to make it all worthwhile.

At least that’s the philosophy that this dog owner follows!

He brings along his dog Junior, a French bulldog, who sings along in the car with him to the song “Diamonds.”

While Junior may not always be on key (and maybe has a difficult time mouthing the words) you can tell he’s certainly into the road tunes.

It sure looks like a way to pass the time!

Who is a better singer anyway? Junior or his owner?

Everybody loves “dog shaming” memes. After all, what’s cuter than a pooch who just ripped up the sofa looking guilty?

But have you ever wondered if they actually feel guilty? A new post on Psychology Today tells us!

According to the post, dogs inherit this guilty look from their wolf ancestors. Among wolves, it’s called an “apology bow.” When a wolf oversteps its boundaries with a superior and is shamed, the wolf must perform this bow to be allowed back into the social circle.

This applies to dogs of the domestic, guilty variety as well.

When we catch our dogs chewing tables or eating our sandwiches and scold them, they perform the same bow, hoping we’ll forgive them and let them back in.

If that doesn’t make these memes all the more adorable, I don’t know what will!

I sure wish I had this growing up!

A school in the UK has adopted a puppy as part of an initiative to help the students. Arnie, the King Charles Spaniel, will help the children through anxiety relief according to a story in The Evening Express.

The system is called “PAWS,” or, “Pupils’ Attainment and Well-being strategy.”

According to the story Arnie is believed to be the first school dog of his kind in the UK!

The school’s principal told the paper:

“There has been a lot of research that has shown there are many benefits for children, young people and adults who come into contact with dogs.

“They help with literacy and the presence of a dog can have quite a calming affect.”

They believe it will be beneficial to all in the school!
