1. When your Great Dane doesn’t fit… there’s always a way to fit.
2. Your clothes fit your Great Dane better than they fit you.
3. No one understands and listens to you like your Great Dane.
4. There is no disputing your Great Danes tongue is as large as the rest of him.
5. The love/hate bonding that goes on between your Great Dane and her toys.
6. This Bark… or one similar.
7. The memories of once upon a time… when your Great Dane wasn’t as tall as you.
8. You’re not sure which is larger: his actual size, or your Great Dane’s personality.
9. Even when your Great Dane needs to get his shit together, you love him that much more.
10. You’ve allowed enough space in your house for when your Great Dane gets the notion to chase his tail… or run… or anything.
11. They are seriously wannabe lap dogs.
12. The disadvantage your Great Dane has while trying to hide.
13. Like their tongue, and the rest of them… their heart is also huge.

That's my Penny in #5 and #7! haha
Where all other loves end...the love for a Great Dane begins.
My two Danes passed but these pictures bring back so many memories.. LOVE LOVE LOVE the breed
I'm with ya lost my third Dane two years ago and my gray hound last month. I'm left with my lovey mutt and my husband want to wait until we buy a place before I get any more Danes. Nothing like a Dane in your life.
Don't wait too long! I ended up waiting 30 years because the time wasn't right. So much Dane love lost!
Literally in the exact same boat lost mine 5 months ago
We have 2 Great Danes and every one of your 13 things are 100% true. They truly light up our lives. Their names are Jethro and Ellie Mae and we feel it's pretty fitting!
Love the names soooo cute!
So true! My Sampson! I don't know what I would do without him.
I have two and love them beyond measure. All the above is so true.
With 4 Danes in the house, yup, I've seen most of these and a few not listed.
I use to deliver mail in the rural areas of East Central Illinois. One of the houses on my route had several Great Danes that were huge. One of my first times on the route, I had pulled up to just before the mail box to sort the mail and pull a package out of the back for the house. While in the back of the truck, it started to shake violently. I honestly thought we were having an earthquake. Then I heard a voice yelling to get back. When I looked back to the front of the front of the mail truck to see who it was, all I saw was the upper half of a Great Dane hanging through the window and panting. He was what was shaking the truck so much.
Being a huge dog lover; I had to get out and introduce myself to him and give him/them cuddles.
Every day that I ran that route; Tiny, Hercules and Lady were waiting for me to say 'Hi' and pet them.
That's awesome I have four danes an they are my babies
We are absolutely smitten with the breed... and are 'owned' by our Fearsome Foursome - our Grand Dame who is 7 -Heike Marie (Harlequin) Judge Alric (4 yr Male- Merliquin) Liesl Gemma (8 month old Female Mantle) Elke Alise (6 month old female Mantle)Thank GOD for King Size beds...our babies sleep with us!
My current Great Dane love us Penny, black with white chest and toes, loves being on the farm! She is my big empty nest baby!
Being a cat and small breed dog owner, these babies would match so much in our house.......
Love these. My current dane is a beautiful Brindle named Chloe Coffee...It is slim pickings on photos of brindle danes. I don't inerrancy why? There are so many of them!
So true!! Best dog breed ever!!
Love the breed, I can't imagine not having at least one in my house at all times. My Danes name is fancy, she is 8 years old and she lives with a 9 year old German pointer and 11 year old Rat terror. I love them all, everything on this list I live every day and love every minute of it
NOTHING can bring as much love into your life like a Great Dane, and nothing can be more heartbreaking than losing you baby. BUT is it worth it? A Million Times YES!! The end of Aug 2015 my baby boy Tiberius was a week and a day away from his 12 th Birthday, he had some kind of a growth that disrupted his spine and hind legs. I took him in to his vet and was with him as he passed over the Rainbow Bridge. I still think of him all the time and miss his companionship tremendously but it is getting better finally, I even made it through all of these pictures on your site! They are clowns, loveys, child like, protectors, cuddle bunnies, secret keepers, bed hogs, slobbery, selfish, giving, nurses and if you have never had the opportunity to own one of these giants among dogs you can never imagine the joy!!
Being a dane owner, a blue one at that, there is no other joy than being the one that he waits to see every evening and the one he totally trusts! An amazing breed and best friend ever! Truly gentle giants!
My baby boy, Harry the Great drives me crazy on a daily basis, but i cant imagine life without him. We are definitely a household that must have a dane at all times. I also love being the one he waits for at the top of the stairs. He loves his momma just as much as i love him!! He is a merlequin
this past may I lost my best friend MAX he was 12 1/2 . We were together for 10 1/2 years . when he turned 10 he started to slow down some. instead of 2&3 mile walks we would go 1mile , then worked our way to entering into the park and laying down in the grass . all his dog friends would come over and play with him . the last 6 months he did not want to leave the back yard . at about this time I took in another dog who need help she is not a great dane by a AMERICAN STAFFORDSHIRE TERRIER AND BOXER MIX . They bonded very fast and she would protect him from dog and people she did not know .she would get between them and Max. after max passed
